Dec 2009 Samantha Perry

The secret’s out and this year’s winners have been announced. Here, Brainstorm presents a short look into the awards process, the judges, and the finalists.
The Awards Process
The IT Personality of the Year award celebrates its 31st anniversary this year. The Computer Society of SA (CSSA) presents the award in association with ITWeb, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa.

Starting from the nominations received from ITWeb readers and the members of the CSSA, the judges short-listed ten IT Personality and three Visionary CIO candidates. Members of the public could vote for their favourite candidate on ITWeb’s website. The field was then narrowed down to five IT Personality finalists, with all three Visionary CIO finalists retained for the final round.
