Integr8 IT attracts international recognition for Africa’s contribution to global ICT development
During the third quarter of this year, Integr8 IT, a South Africa-based leading network integration and infrastructure management specialist and member of the Savant local ICTE (Information and Communication Technology and Electronics) initiative, attended the annual Microsoft Worldwide Partners Awards ceremony in Toronto, Canada, and walked away with the top global Small Business Partner award competing against thousands of other companies throughout the world.
This achievement, together with a number of other recent accolades, including a place on the local tech top 100 companies list, retaining the position as one of only two CA ‘Insiders’ worldwide and Microsoft’s Security Partner of the Year for Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe, reinforces Integr8 IT’s status as representing a powerful advertisement for Africa’s technology and telecommunications capability, placing a local company on the worldwide globe.
The company was started by a small group of youngsters in a residential setting three years ago. In the words of its now joint-Managing Director Lance Fanaroff, the business has grown substantially to become a national operation with offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town, Durban and representation in Port Elizabeth, East London and across the Southern Africa region.
The entire operation is manned by almost 200 people, providing managed services through a Nerve Centre via its 24/7 national helpdesk and managed services (0861 888 888).
“Our strategy has always been to stick to what we know and abstain from venturing into other potential market segments,” says Fanaroff. “Our core objective and value is to provide solutions tailored to the needs and business requirements of our clients. Our level of expertise and experience, and accumulated knowledge capital, allows us to provide the highest level of service to any sized company or operation. Integr8 IT’s portfolio ranges from high level global enterprises through to small-to-medium sized organisations with a user base of between fifty and one hundred.”
The company’s business model is based on turning intellectual capital into structural capital and empowering clients to maximise off their investment in infrastructure. The rules are: to be solution-driven not product focused and guarantee service levels through skills, expertise and effective turnaround times.
“We have also concentrated on establishing a formidable skills base with over 200 skilled full-time specialists. In addition, we have forged a number of strong alliances with global IT leaders including Microsoft, Intel Corporation, Computer Associates, 3Com, Citrix, Cisco and MTN Network Solutions. This enables us to evaluate, design, consult, integrate and maintain essential networking environments by means of the most up to date technology solutions available,” says fellow MD Robert Sussman.
Integr8 IT has also aligned itself with the Savant initiative, a partnership between South Africa’s Department of Trade & Industry (the dti) and the ICTE industry to elevate the country’s technology and telecommunications profile across the world.
“We believe in South Africa’s capability and skills development in this competitive market. The country certainly has much to offer the global market and we look forward to further promoting local expertise through our involvement in the Savant. We have proven, via our recognition, achievements and being the first South African company to be accredited worldwide by winning this Global achievement from the Microsoft Corporation, that South African companies are able to compete on the highest international level,”,” adds Sussman.
